The Story....

Chubby Checker was born Ernest Evans in Philadelphia. He was given his stage name by Dick Clark’s wife. His first big hit, “The Twist”, ignited the one of the most popular worldwide dance crazes in music history. “The Twist” also holds the distinction of being the only record in the rock era to hit #1 twice (1960 & 1961). In addition to “The Twist”, Chubby scored thirteen other Top 20 hits and earned Gold Records for “The Twist”, “Let’s Twist Again” and “Limbo Rock”. “The Twist” resurfaced again in 1988 when Chubby recorded a new version, “The Twist (Yo, Twist!)”, with the Fat Boys.
