The Story....

Having a hit record might be just a dream to most young singers. That dream came true for Jimmy Clanton. Louisiana native Jimmy Clanton formed a band called the Rockets while in Baton Rouge High School. He wrote a song called “Just A Dream” and was able to record it at nearby Ace Records. “Just A Dream” was a big hit selling a million copies. In 1958 Jimmy found himself in the Top 5 again with “Go, Jimmy. Go”. Several hit records combined with Jimmy’s good looks made him one of the top teen idols of the day. Jimmy would score another big hit in 1962 with the Neil Sedaka penned “Venus In Blue Jeans”.
